Angular Deformities Correction
Angular deformities like Genu Varum ( Bow Legs ) & Genu Valgum ( Knock Knees ) are very commonly enquired childhood bone problems that parents come across very often.
More often than not, these are either physiological in nature due to growth pattern as per age of the child which parents need to be counselled about, or due to nutritional deficiencies of calcium & vitamin D. Sometimes, when the deformity is non physiological or severe in nature, then surgical innterventions with growth modulation plates may be needed. Consult us to know more.

Clubfeet
Congenital Talipes Equino Varus, commonly known as clubfeet is a congenitally acquired deformity of feet, noticed after birth. It can be idiopathic or syndromic in nature. Early detection and treatment is the key to cure clubfeet. Sequential corrective plaster techniques followed by minimally invasive tenotomy followed by bracing protocol is the treatment of choice in majority of cases. Untreated or relapse cases need further evaluation and treatment.
If your child is a case of clubfoot, do consult us to know more.

Limping Child
One of the most common encountered childhood problem is a child walking with limp. There can be numerous causes for it ranging from trauma and infection to developmental and neuromuscular conditions.
These kids need detailed evaulation, clinical assessment, diagnostic investigations, gait analysis and multi-displinary approach to find the cause and suitable treatment for the same. Early diagnosis and treament is the key. Consult us to know more.

Metabolic Bone Diseases
Is your child complaining of generalized irritation, lethargy, body weakness and bone pain? Is his/her growth not picking up as expected? Then you must read this. Rickets and Osteomalacia are still the most common metabolic bone diseases found in child age group. However, their presentation and symptoms have a varied spectrum. Also, along with Vit D & Calcium, other minerals and micro nutrients like Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium and Vit K play a significant role in treating bone metabolic disorders.
Diet, supplements and physical training is the key to strong bones. We at carbs and cuddles are committed to provide your child with nourish, nurture and care with expert analysis and consultation. We aim for prevention of injuries by giving you a roadmap for healthy living and strong bones for you and your kid.

Bone & Joint Infection
Joint infections known as septic arthritis is particularly aggressive in childhood due to rich vascular (blood) supply to the joints. Due to this, any infection in body (throat / urine / gastrointestinal ) can travel to joints ( hip / knee / spine ) more rapidly as compared to adults, and hence, early diagnosis with clinical evaluation and investigations, and treatment with surgical interventions is extremely important to prevent permanent damage to joints leading to deformities and loss of function.
Osteomyelitis ( infection of the bone) is one of the most difficult infection to treat in human body. Sometimes, it take many months of Antibiotic courses and multiple surgeries to get rid of the infection.
Early detection and aggressive approach to treating bone and joint infections is very important.
If you suspect anything related to joint infection ( fever / pain / redness / swelling / unable to use that limb / persistent crying ) in your child, consult us to know more.
Bone and Joint infections are Real Emergency. Do not wait.

Injuries
Childhood injuries, may be subtle or obvious. Fractures may need conservative or surgical intervention depending upon their pattern and severity.
In kids, fracture healing is not the problem. What is important is that they heal and unite in proper alignment so as to avoid any deformities in future. Paediatric Orthopaedic surgeons make sure that fractures are treated as per the best of knowledge keeping future issues ( deformities etc ) in mind.
For all trauma and injuries, consult us to know more for further guidance.
At Carbs and cuddles, we aim to address all the bone and joint related issues of children along with special focus on their nutrition and development. As we know, nutritional deficiency adversely affects the growth and developement of kids with particular effect on bones due to Calcium & Vitamin D deficiency mainly, among others. Hence, the aim at carbs and cuddles is treatment of the disease and prevention of the deficiency. Dr Divit & Radhika are committed to this motto, by their respective specialisation and services to the kids.
